    Engine Identification

I just purchased a 215 ci V8 and I am trying to find out exactly which engine I have. The numbers listed on the block just in front of the head on the passenger side (right side) is as follows:

    3I1505228 and HI18400

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Lionel

i don't know. it looks too long to be a casting number and the "3I" would seem to indicate a 1963 engine if it was an Engine Indentification Number stamping.

It is the Serial number of the vehicle your engine came out of.
