If you want Horse Power, you get more with the cubic inches every time. If you want 500, you are way better to start with a 455 than a 350.

so ive been trying to decide weather or not i should stick with a buick 350 that i have or should i try and find a 455. It seems like there is alot more support for the 455 but im lookin to pump out around 500 hp. Would it be cheaper to do this with the 455 or the 350.

i've actually heard of 1400hp out of a twin turbo Buick 350 and passes in the low 8's. but that's only effective if you've got God's own money supply.
i've seen several Buick 350's around 500-550 but they aren't cheap either. a 500 horse Buick 350 probably won't be "cost effective" until TA brings out their aluminum heads.

If you are looking for 500 horsepower, go with the 455. Getting to 500 is pretty easy with pump gas. There are a lot more products available for the 455.
The 350 is fun too, but very limited on easy to obtain performance parts. We are going to put a turbo on our 350 street car to get to about 500hp the hard way.

I've just purchased a 455 to put in my 67 gs400.I've noticed a few of the fella's with 67's go that way.How cheap is to get 500hp out of these motors,is that flywheel hp or rear wheel hp.

In my book, either can be done. The question is about streetability. To make a 350 generate that much HP will take a lot of mods and your motor won't be very streetable - however a 455 can make that much power and still be fairly streetable.
