    Conversion to an alternator??

I'm restoring a 1960 Invicta with a 401 engine and I'm currently re-wiring the car. I'm thinking that now is probably a good time to convert from a generator to an alternator. Can someone tell me what year alternator brackets will match up to my 60' 401?? I believe 1962 through 1964 may work. but I'm not sure. Also, where would I be able to find an alternator and brackets for this car??? Thanks

Since you have a 401 I think you need the '63-'66 w/o AC bracket. Russ Martin or Tom Telesco should be able to help you out with the parts:

    alternator

We did this swap used a 64 401 bracket, and a late GM one wire alternator, we had to alter the shape of the bracket for the tightening bolt some.
