Sounds like the wire in the door jam is broken.You will have to pull the kick panel and the door panel and determine which wire with an ohm meter, then string a new one.

my windows quit working yesterday. i opened my door and shut it and they worked for a half hour or so and died again and havent worked since. where should i start looking.

you could have a flat spot on the motor , I just went through the same thing with my van ..
