Probably the best reference is to use a Shop Manual. There is a 1966 one in our reference library.

Hi guys! Brand new Skylark owner. I have to stash the car for now while other projects are going but I want to pull the motor, put it on a stand and rebuild it piece by piece over time.
Where's my "See Spot Run" on how to do it?
I'm not afraid of the build and I have the tools...I just want a step-by-step guide so I don't screw up. Using this site's awesome data and my local machine shop for the heavy lifting, I want to pick the parts and handle the assembly.
Any help would be appreciated!

A sloppy to average rebuild , you can do by just posting, talking to people, etc.
A serious engine rebuild, you will need workshop manual.
I would suggest going to the library, or buying a book on "engine blueprinting."
this kind of book would address balance of an engine and so forth.

I'm confused about what you're looking for, if you disassemble the motor and take great pictures; reassembly is pretty much a snap (presuming good machine work).
Also, 215 Buick motors come in a variety of configurations - it'd be helpful to let us know what you're working on; how much experience you have with building motors; and what your plans are for it.
As for screwing one together - there are several really good articles about 215s - including how to make a 300 ci aluminum motor.
