    1950 Buick engine bay restoration

Am restoring a 50 Special as a driver. Would like to know what the exact colors are for things such as oil filter canister, accessory mounting brackets, generator fan, etc. Is there a publication out there that could assist me, unless someone on this forum is able to?

I don't think you are going to find any hard and steadfast rules for everything. Generally the brackets are black, the oil filter is engine color with the top orange (chevy orange looks good). Alternator and starter are black.

Thanks for the replies and they are appreciated. As for the oil filter container, I have seen that they are blue, except for the top cover. What color would work best for the blue? Chevy orange for the top is a great help, as I wasn't sure what to use.

Don't know if this helps but POR-15 offers an engine enamel "Buick Turquoise '42-'52, '53 Special" as well as Chevy Orange.
