Thread: Vin plate question

    Vin plate question

I have a 1950 Buick Special. I'm having trouble locating the VIN plate on the drivers side door area. I know what the VIN is from the registration, however I'd like to be able to find the plate. The car has been painted and it may have been painted over. I'm hesitant to take a wire brush to it and was wondering if for some reason I can't find it or it's been removed is it possible to get a replacement?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Scott

Sitting in the driver's seat with the door open, follow down the windshield post about half way down the windshield. On the surface that faces the door you should see the plate or there should be two holes about 3" apart where it was.
