    1954 DynaFlow question

I have been trying to find a decent photo of a DynaFlow showing the "dip stick" tube ,and the manner that it is attached to the trans. I have a 1954 Roadmaster (newly acquired), and it has a section of rubber hose connecting the upper metal dip stick tube, with the metal tube exiting the transmission. The rubber section is about 8" to 10" long, with a screw clamp on either end. I can't believe that the dip stick tube from the factory wouldn't be a solid metal tube. The dip stick itself appears to be rather short, and it appears that the fluid must fill the lower section of the tube, just to reach the dip stick. Any help will be greatly appreciated Phil

    I don't have a photo, sorry...

Do you have a Shop Manual for 1954? Starting on page 185 you'll find the chapter "Dynaflow Transmission Removal and Installation, Dissambly and Assembly". It contains some photos of Dynaflow parts.

Sounds like someone has altered it from the original. There is a rubber connector piece but it is only a couple of inches long. Here's what it is suppose to look like.

    Hope this helps.
