Talking Brand New Buick Owner 62 Sky

    Hello all,
I am the pround (co) owner of a 1962 Buick Skylark, just pruchased in Reno at Hot August Nights. We had a bit of a ruff home, both the Odometer and the gas gage were broken.
I havn't had a chance to grab a manual yet. Can anyone tell me how big my tank is and what the aprox MPG's for a 8 cyl automatic would be?
I certaininly know from friends experince that buying a car at Auction isn't the smartest thing, but she was calling to me.

I have a 62 skylark, I get about 20mpg. I live in Fl.its flat that helps. My guess is the tank is about 14 Gal.

    Thanks!

that helps, there must be something else going on, I'll have to do some more research. We started out with a full tank and made the first leg ok aprox 170 miles but only took 8 gallons at that first stop, but ran out about 145 miles later.
Once I figure out how I'll post some pictures, and quite a few more quesitons. Thanks again for your help.
