The Dynaflow transmission in my '63 LeSabre has "burped" about a quart of transmission fluid out through the dipstick tube this summer. After searching this site, I found out that the problem could be the vent tube on the rear of the transmission. I put the car up on ramps this afternoon, and cleaned out the tube. It was clear, with very little crud inside.

I then started the engine, backed off the ramps, and checked the fluid level...nothing showing while idling in park. I added just over 1 quart of fluid, and brought the level back to normal.

While I had the dipstick out, I was looking at the rubber seal around the top of the dipstick, it is very worn and deteriorated. Apparently, that is the reason my Dynaflow is pushing a little fluid out of the dipstick tube.

Does anyone know a source for a replacement dipstick, or perhaps the seal that goes on it?
