350's from '74-'78. 455's from '74-'76. If you get a 455 distributor you just need to change the drive gear as the dist. are the same. I also think that the drive gear from your points distributor will work on the 455 dist.
Usually I can find an answer to all my Buick questions by simply searching the forums, this one I can not get an accurate answer.
What years and models can I source an HEI distributor? I have just completed the transplant of a 1968 GS 350 motor (based on engine code) and th400 into my Jeep CJ-7. It runs great and very strong.
Now I want to put HEI on it and prep for injection. The carb is a big pain when wheeling in the mountains with altitude variations from 6000 to over 12000 ft not uncommon on a one day trip.
Thanks,

Buick 350 production ran til at least 1980 with a couple of hundred units being placed in 1981 model year vehicles. shouldn't all of those have HEI?

The easy solution: Install a Pertronix Ignitor, and keep your stock distributor (if it's not worn).
