I am 99% sure 1957 was the only year Buicks had the three piece split windows.
I just did a quick online search of the surrounding years (1956, 1958), and couldn't find one picture with a split window setup.
Is 1957 the only year Buick Specials had the 3 piece glass in the rear?

Yep, only the '57 Special and Century (and corresponding Oldsmobile models ) had the three rear windows. Some '57 Roadmasters had a three-piece rear window, but it was shaped differently than the Special/Century. It looked more like the standard Roadmaster wrap around rear window with two chrome strips extending down from the roof trim to divide the rear window.
