my 69 GS had a 400 in it and when I put the 455 in it everything was reused and fit fine. check your salvage yard out, I am sure the brackets from any of those will work fine for you.

Thumbs up Re: 1969 power steering problem

I also did the 455 transplant in my '68 Skylark. However I don't think the 350 brackets would work. I simply went to a wrecking yard to get the power steering brackets off another 400/430/455 equipped Buick along with the alternator and A/C brackets. You should also get the crank and water pump pulleys. From there it is a bolt on application with no concerns about belt alignment or fit.

When I dropped a 455 in my '65 Special Wagon, I'd gotten a power steering bracket from a donor car that required a smog pump. In that case I simply cut the bracket to get rid of the smog pump mounting provisions and it bolted up fine. The only problem I ran into with the '65 was the smaller engine bay. I had to get a smaller aftermarket power brake booster. The standard 9.5" booster was going to hit the drivers side valve cover.

My experience has been that the 350 brackets work fine with the exception of the long thin alternator adjusting bracket which will be too short as the 455 is wider.
