A little more modern??? They are being used in Range Rovers today!!! More ump??? Many sites about that LITTLE 215. It can be made into, I think, 6+ liters from it's original 3.5 liters.

Is it possible to swap a larger engine into the 62 Skylark body. If so which ones will go with little or no extensive fabrication.I'd like something a little more bigger than the 215 possibly a buick 350.Also what about a disc brake conversion and better suspension parts.
Thanks-
Dusty

A buick 300 & probably a Buick 350. They are based on the 215 design, but are cast iron therefore heavier. The 215 was way ahead of its time and is still a faily modern engine. If you want fuel injection & electronic ignition there are lots of ways to accomplish that; by using Rover parts or the after market.
LANDROVER Discovery 2 , 4.6LITERS STOCK 99.5-2003 FUEL INJECTED STOCK.
LANDROVER Range Rover ,4.6 liters " " "
these engines are same 215V8 casting engine heads, aluminum, have cross bolts reinforcing engine, come with aluminum pan,had some minor changes.
if you can find engine from these cars and put instead of your 215V8, It would be a sight to see!
if you accomplish this send me pics at mndzblue@yahoo.com
if you have any questions as well.
Get a electronic ignition and fuel injection off a Rover motor and you now have a modern 215.
