How do I pull this Straight eight??

I am having trouble removing my Straight eight from my 49 buick super 50.
I removed the four bolts that hold the 3 speed to the (what looks like) the bell housing. She wasnt budging much, so I removed the four bolts that I could see while peering down into the engine compartment. Looks like they hold the block to the bell housing. Where the flywheel resides. I tried to pry it free from underneath while my Dad was jacking it, but is seems that it just wont slip loose. Any suggestions? Ideas? Any advice would help a lot. I am trying to get this out TONIGHT.

How do I remove this straight eight?

Have you removed the radiator? How about the motor mounts on both sides of the engine? Have you disconnected the torque tube, and pulled the drive shaft back?

There is one hidden bolt at the very top of where the torque tube bolts to the transmission.

No! dont do that. That rear connection should never come apart. See shop manual

It should unbolt at the back of the transmission where the narrow torque tube bolts up.

Got it out without having to manipulate the torque tube. Loosened the 2 bolts holding the Trans to the crossmember. Then, Un did the two bolts on the drivers side of the engine holding the clutch linkage to the engine block. Placed the jack pad under the trans and evened it with the angle of the cherry picker. She slid out like the eighth octuplet.
