I'm thinking it's from another vehicle, put on there to keep the elements out? The fits between top and header panel and qtr window aren't quite right.
Might it be from a Jeepster or a Scout? They both had hardtop-style bodies with avalable fiberglass tops.
Aftermarket fiberglass tops weren't too common for these big six passenger cars but one never knows...if you ever get back there by all means please snap some more pics!

pic from last week and its in ajunkyard in arkansas you might be right about for something else i thought it should have been slided forward more and the latches were not latched underneath
