It appears the most common was an AFB.
I have a 1967 LeSabre with the 340 engine and 4-bbl carb. The carb installed in car is not the original carb for this vehicle. Does anyone know what manufacturer of carburetor was used in 1967 for 340 V8s with the 4-barrell carb option? My mechanic thinks it should be a Rochester carb, but we don't know for sure. Any help you can provide is most appreciated.

Hi, I think so the most common was the carter AFB, ref#4331s for auto trans or #4332s for manual trans, or #4344s for air induction engine type... Rochester carb was for bigger engines.
As the Carter doesn't exist anymore you have to find it used and rebuild it or you can go for its twin at Edelbrock that have re-essued exactly the same model (not sure of the ref but you should find it easely on the web...
I have this Carter set up on my Skylark, with the shop manual I think I've reached a reasonable tune-up... and it seems to be a good package....
Hope this helps...
I have a factory afb off of an auto if ya need it. It worked fine, but pulled it when I installed a 200r4 and a edelbrock carb.
