Need to verify '55 322 engine code

I've got a '55 Super with a 322. Engine code V9208685.
I tried ordering parts from an on-line source and they told me there's no number that starts with a 9, yet the stamp is clear and on the left bank of the block where the ID guide said to find it? Anybody have any info?

I've checked the reference section and it says the engine code for 1955 starts with V720...... Does this mean it can go all the way up to V9208685?
The parts place says it can't, but I don't know.
