    57 rear wheel bearings

when I buy new rear wheel bearings from CARSinc will they come with a new retaining ring or do I have to use the old one which will be expanded with a few hits from a cold chisel to remove it from the axle shaft. The shop manual says to remove the retainer this way but does not specify a new one when reasembling.

Always use a new ring. Have you tried Rockauto, they have new rear bearings for $57ea.

I guess I should have also said that as far as I know, the new bearings always come with new rings too.

Got some bearings off 'Car inc'-the bearings were assembled in China I guess and the convex which comes to final rest against the axle is on the opposing side to the oil seal-not good-the bearings only had grease seals in them and the oil seal supplied did not fit the bearing.Have ordered some from Kanters with the seal already installed.
