    If you check out my post from a couple of weeks ago titled 1966 Electra Custom you will find the answer to most of your queries. The 11B at the top is the build date - the second week of November 1965. I can't help with the F at the top though. The EUC is where the plant code would normally be. I wonder if EUC means it was built in Europe somewhere? The K after the seat colour code refers to the type of seats but I don't know just what. I presume from the codes that your car is silver mist green with green seats. E=tinted glass, X=power windows, 2K=a/c, 2R= rear speaker, 4F= remote mirror, 5K=door edge guards. Do what I did and go through the archives of this section and check out all posts relating to big cars of the mid 1960s and you might find out more.

    EUC might mean it was supplied through GM International in Copenhagen.

    Thanks for the info on the codenumber on my Riviera

    And thaks to Mr Walker for an informative E-mail to, the cowl tag info you sent me was great

    Her it is:

    11B = Build date = (B)2nd week of (11)November 1965

    EUC = Assembly Plant, EUC = Euclid,Ohio Fisher Body
    Plant. This plant was used for the vehicles
    preperations for the outside U.S. auto market.

    F = Internal Plant Code

    K = Custom Trim Interior ( Strato - Bench )

    1E = Tinted Windows
    1X = Power Windows

    2K = Air Conditioning
    2R = Rear Seat Speaker

    4F = Outside Remote Control Mirror

    5K = Door Edge Guards

    You learn something every day. It would seem that there is some inconsistency in the codes used for the various plants. Maybe it depended who was punching out the plates and what time of day it was. The two Electras I have looked at have FL1 for Flint but elsewhere on this site it is listed as H. I did some searching re Euclid and found this site www.freewebs.com/chevelle300/dataplateinfodecoding.html
    which notes that the Euclid plant code was EP for Chevrolet purposes. Maybe the Buicks were put together in a different part of the plant? The whole thing is a big can of worms.

    I meant to ask a question of norwegian66riv. Was this car supplied new to Norway? if so it would be quite a rare variant I suppose.

    Hi, for the plant code I think that Flint was listed 'H' on the vin tag and 'FL1' on the cowl tag(body style and options)...
    My 67' Skylark was built in Flint for brand new delivery in france (may 2nd,1967), km/h speedo and several mods... I don't think we could say that 'this was made there at this time every time', productions shedules and changes and so was certainly the 'everyday job' in those years...
    I'm looking for infos on my car history by the media of the 'European importation/homologation(registration) GM service', hope they still have registries of the 60's, if so I'll let you know !

    It stands EUC on my cowl Tag and on my VIN it stands H for Flint. I can only ges but i think the body was produse in Euclid and then shipped to Flint and put together?

    No Riviera was sold new in Norway in 1966, my car is a US import for about 13 years agoe. Im 99.99% soure that it was sold new in Cabarrus county in North Carolina. Sometime there is some private import of new cars, but no Riviera is reg new that year in Norway.

    Sounds like a good guess, body built in Euclid, final assembly in Flint. You could check on one of the Riviera sites. I have also seen some useful Riviera stuff on the AACA forums.
