Thread: Not Starting...

    Not Starting...

    ok so my car decided it did not want to start this afternoon when i decided to work on it, i think its the starter but not sure. When i turn the key to start it makes a clicking noise. Any ideas?

    Try the battery first-
    1. Is it fully charged, turn on the lights and see if they are bright 2. Check the battery terminals and cables to the starter. 3. Tap on the starter to see if it's locked up.
    From what you described, it sounds like a dead battery.

    If the battery has plenty of juice then it's probably an electrical ground issue. Cable to battery, cable to starter, starter to block, other cable to engine, or a bad cable. Usually not to tough to figure out. Good luck.

    i went and traded the old battery for a new optima red top and she started right up!

    Great! I'm glad it was such a simple solution. I just wish that all my car issues were this easy.
