Can anyone tell me why there are two cv joints in the rear half of the Riviera driveshaft. I've been told that they are to correct vibration due to poor geometry in the rear suspension.

Has anyone ever put a one piece shaft into a 63,64,65, Riviera? I guess the concern would be interference with the tunnel unless you limited the rear suspension travel or altered the tunnel.
