Performance is really in the head flow. Head work from a Buick headwork pro is #1.
Your cheapest performance will be gained from have a pro recurve you ignition advance curve on a distributor machine.www.trishieldperf.com is who I use.
Sanderson makes headers now. So on the exhaust side this is the best you can do. Having said that I would not use these on a street engine. There are too may associated problemsd like heat induction into the firewall, low ground clearance, too much noise, too much associated maintence with keeping them tight etc.
Get the carb reworked with the appropriate hangers and jets after the head work. This is best done on a dyno.
Having said all this if you just transplanted a $500.00 1970 running 455 out of a junked Electra and a TH 400 your car will still outperform what you will have after spending a lot more on these 340 upgrades.
