    rod and main clearances 401

On the quick, does anyone know what the rod and main clearances should be on a 401?. An old parts book I have says .001 to .0019. Seems tight to me.

According to the '66 manual, which is the information presented here, its even tighter!

Basically, you should torque the crank in, then give it a spin, it should turn freely.

I saw that after I posted. Seems to me that a .000" clearance is for most perposes infnitly tight.
