I would check the trans. and engine mounts first .HTH

Hiya, I've searched the forums several times before i started a new thread but i kept coming up with no search results.
I have an 89 Buick Regal Custom that clunks when ever put in gear; reverse or drive. I'm thinking it's universal joint (if they use one) or maybe a ball joint but I'm not for sure because i can't reproduce the sound when it's up on stands lol.
I also get a clunk noise when going over a bump or pothole but i believe that to be the struts and will be changing those this weekend.
Any help advice would be MOST appreciated.
Thanks
John who loves the MPG =] In town i get almost 29mpg. This car just keeps getting better, i'm thinking the late owner made some of his own mods to it =]

The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
Looked up your problem on this website I found on Cabelas forum http://repairpal.com/ and it said that worn CV Shafts could make the same noise and clunking your talking about.
Hope this helps
