2 door and 4 door frames

I have a question, does a 2 door body and a 4 door body share the same frame? Or did they make different frames for the different bodies?

As a general statement, the frame is determined by the series (40, 50, 60 etc.) and not by body style. There may be a few mounting point differences, but not enough to make any difference. Remember, these were all built on an assembly line, so the fewer changes from car to car, the better. There may be exceptions to this, but I have yet to meet one.

Sorry, I forgot convertibles, which almost always are reinforced more than the hardtop models to compensate for the loss of stiffness in the steel top.

Some year convertibles had boxed frames and some year hardtops did too.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a 1950 super, 50 series. It's a four door that the previous owner cut the top off of. I have been restoring it mechanically and have been looking for a body to replace the existing one.

I figured that some of the mounting points might be different, but it does sound the like frames are a pretty standard length though. Is that correct?

I'm not really looking to replace it with a two door body but if one comes along I might take it.

You would probably need either a Super or a Roadmaster body. If I remember right, Special and Centuries are slightly smaller, and wouldn't work. I hope this helps.
In the meantime, just enjoy it as a 'parade car'.

Do you have the model 51 sedan with a 121.5" wheelbase or the model 52 sedan with a 125.5" wheelbase?

It's a model 52 so it would be 125.5".
