Thread: decoding trim & acc codes

    Question decoding trim & acc codes

    hey there!!! I want to put new carpet in my 59 convertible le sabre, but the places i've seen thus far don't have tuxedo blue & black like in my car...could anyone decipher codes & maybe suggest a quality replacement carpet??..my grandfather bought vehicle new in 59 & gifted it to me 10 years ago..im confident its original carpet, as he never mentioned or had reason to replace it..he unfortunately passed this year, so i can no longer check with him..cowl data plate is as follows:

    STYLE 59-4467 BODY FB 1930
    TRIM 410 K8 PAINT J3
    ACC D1 BG 16 U7

    here's what i know:

    1959 convertible le sabre
    364 w/ power option(4bbl carb & manifold, dual exhaust)
    pwr brakes,pwr windows,pwr steering
    wedgewood blue with white top
    blue/white vinyl seats(bench)
    blue/black tuxedo carpet

    i checked thru "yearly refrence" page w/o much luck...it stated for 59 the trim code of "410"represents green/green, also no mention of "K8"..what gives???...no listings (that i found) for accessory codes...

    Any help,leads,suggestions,decipherings or info would be greatly welcomed!!!! thanks, jonny

    STYLE 59 = 1959 model year

    44 = LeSabre

    67 = convertible 2 door

    BODY 1930 = Fisher body sequence number

    FB = Flint plant of assembly

    TRIM 410 = Blue vinyl interior-- bench front seat

    K8 = ??? I suspect this may have to do with the white inserts in the seats

    PAINT J = Wedgewood blue and 3 = convert top color

    ACC = Accessory codes

    D1 = power top

    BG 16= ??

    U7 = power windows

    I do not know whether it was standard. I posted my best two carpet sources above.

    yes, i saw them & appreciate the links!!! according to ACC, "electra" model in 1959 was the only model that came standard w/ tuxedo, others were dealer option add on when ordering, which might explain the mystery K8 in my trim code of 410 K8...thanks again, jon
