    engine knock

I have a 1980 buick 231 V6. The engine has a knock in it, could it be the wrong size bearings or low oil pressure? Please help

could it be the wrong size bearings

unless you just rebuilt ( which you haven't told us ), no.

could the bearings be excessively worn? yes.

    or low oil pressure?

low oil pressure is an intermediary step between the real problem and the damage that's causing the knock.

at this point i would say that you need to rebuild with heavy emphasis on cleaning up the oil system and checking pump clearances.

if you've just completed a rebuild, it may not be internal to the engine at all, but that's a completely different subject.
