Well the best is to rebuild the stock carb.. A Holley or any other non stock carb that would fit, might need rejetting and readjusting for the Buick engine.
iv got a 56 special and the stock carb needs replaceing. i am going to fit a 2brl holley! any ideas what works best please

oh I see you are in the UK. OK If you can get a Hemmings magazine, it lists many, parts and services, for Buicks, and more seaching on the web may bring up some more info, as I don,t know much about whats available in UK. You can look up carb rebuilders in your area and maybe get info on your carb. I have contacted a good Parts shop here in California thas given me some good info, contact - bob@bobsautomobilia.com.
my carb had alot of condesation in it and i have been told it's not repairable. i have been advised to replace it with a holley i would have like'd to keep the stock carb to keep it original. i will try and get a copy of that magazine. thanks for ur help!
don't for get if you still have a starter tied to the throttle you need a repairable carb with the start switch in it, or you can change over to a button start under or on your dash.
