1953 Buck Special 263 And Dynaflow, engine Needs To Rev Up Before The Car Moves In Forward Or Reverse,do You Think The Problem Is With The Trans Or The Torque Converter?

Hard to say but my guess would be that the forward and reverse bands are out of adjustment. I have to ask the obvious...Have you checked the fluid level?

the fluid is actually overfilled,do you think that would make a difference?

Might have blown some internal seals by over-filling. You need to call a transmission shop and maybe they will be abel to tell you for sure.

Sounds like your front pump is not making enough pressure. If I were you I would pull the pan and see if the intake is plugged up or that the intake did not fall off of the valve body. another source of loss of pressure would be the servo seals, after 50 years or so they tend to turn rock hard and crack, this would require a rebuild. Drain and check the pan first, that's my suggestion.

    Good luck
