Broken column shift lever on a '64 LeSabre

Hey, folks. Been awhile since I posted here. I have a problem. I have 1964 LeSabre sedan with the standard 2bbl 300cid V8. The car came from the factory with a three speed column shifted manual transmission. The shifter broke up near the steering wheel. The shift lever and housing now spin freely around the column and are loose enough that I can see the broken parts within. Are these standard GM parts that I could cannibilise from a less worthy source? Could I use a column from a junked Chevy or Poncho of the same era? I need some help here, because I realy don't wan't to cut a hole in the floor to install a universal floor shift kit for a three speed. Many thanks.
