Is a 364 Nailhead V8 Cross-compatible?

Hey all,

I'm restoring a 1958 Buick Special.. and I need an engine..

I have one available from a 1961 Buick LeSabre.. Does anyone know if this will just fit or if not how much work would be needed to get it to fit? (If at all!)

OR-- does anyone have a lead on a 364 - preferably running or unstuck- that will work for my application?

Kent, if in fact it is a '61/364 engine it should be a bolt-in swap. Make sure you also get the starter with the engine as it's mountings are different than yours.

If the 61 engine doesn`t turn out ok I have a 57 364 with a lot of new parts and a Bendstens adapter for a late GM auto--tri carb intake---make ya a good deal--PM me if interested
