Can anyone advise what the stock camshaft specifications are for a 1967 gs 340 I am doing a basically stock rebuild using .030 9.5.1 pistons. some mild porting ,polishing of heads and hardenened valve seats. I purchased a isky cam valve lift 445/445 ad duration 262/262 .050 duration 208/208. I hope I made the right choice, for some reason I can't find the stock specs. If anyone has the stock spec inf could they please let me know. I just want to make sure the cam I picked was a good choice and also it the 9.5.1 pistons are a better choice than the 10.25.1 that came stock. My concern is the lousy gas I did not want to go that high. The car has a 2 speed auto. I am not expecting a rocket I just want the car to be reliable and have decent performance. I appreciate your help.

As I understand it... preformance cams will drop the compression because of the increased overlap. Does this hold true throughout the entire RPM range?
I'm also thinking about gas quality and requirements due to the 10.25 pistons that I currently have. In the long run, wouldn't it be easyer (on my wallet too) just to change cams?
I have my eye on the Isky 270 duration cam.

Without looking at the specs, the Isky 270 sounds like more cam than what you are running.
10.25 pistons rarely really get you 10.25 compression. At 10.25 compression I would sugget that any problems can be solved with your distributor advance.
I would suggest that you run what you have and see how you like it before buying another cam.

google "dynamic compression ratio". that's the correct term for the effect you're talking about.
i have a little bit of an understanding of it but am by no means an expert.
long story short though, DCR is constant regardless of engine rpm.
