The (FIREBALL dynaflash eight) name was first used on the 1941 models. Buick changed from flat top pistons to domed pistons in 1938 and called it the Dynaflash 8. The fireball piston was supposed to be a improved design over the original domed piston of 1938. Buick also came out with compound carburetion in 1941 and a claimed 165 horsepower on the 320 inch motor.
