    1965 300 crankshaft

Can someone shed some lite on forged or cast crank? How durable are these bottomends? Can they rpm like the 327 small block chevy, that was around in this era I believe? I would assume the buick 300 is a two bolt main block,is this correct,or are there both 2&4 bolt main blocks?I would appreciate any info. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

i don't believe there has ever been a production 4 bolt main Buick block. there are 4 bolt cross bolted blocks produced by Land Rover but those are based more closely on the Buick SBB 215 than is the SBB 300.

Nailhead cranks are forged but it's not physically possible to put them in an SBB design as it's much too long. i don't think there are any SBB's or BBB's with a forged crank.
