Hi, I'm new to the board and I hope someone can help me. I just purchased a nice 50 Super Sedan with 46k miles on it.
It's in very good shape, however during a repaint, the bodys tags/id went missing. I have the engine number - which is 56597015. Is there a way to find out the original "build" info such as, color, trim, options, date built, factory location, etc.
I'd like to restore it to its original color and interior.
Does anyone make replacement tags and plates?
Thanks, David
Those plates were just held on with a couple of philips screws. I think you will have a tough time without the body tag. If you can find the serial number on the frame, you will be able to know which factory the car came from. The frame was stamped poorly somewhere on top, behind the steering box? and on top behind near the right shock mount. Good luck.
