Your code 0 1 appears to me to be a C 1
In that case:
027 = Red Vinyl Interior
C = White exterior
1 = White Top
And I agree that the standard tire was a 7.35x14 on a
series 43467, Special convertible. Without the build sheet
its just a guess.
I have 2 questions about my 65 Special.
First one...The paint code on the body plate (located on the firewall) is 01. The reference section and all my shop manuals have letter designations for the paint. Am I reading the plate the wrong way? Or was this a special paint designation?
I will try to recreate the plate here
04C (or G).......... 098
65 43467............ BAL1190
027................... 01
Second.....In my 65 chassis manual, the standard tire size is listed as 7.35X14 and an optional size of 7.75X14. How can I know which my car originally came with without have a build sheet? I am assuming the 7.35 because everything else on the car seems to be bare bones. (no ps,pb, etc.)
Any help here would be great.
Thanks,
Gregg
Here is a bad picture of the build plate if it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. After looking at the plate again I believe you are 100% right.
Where did buick generally put the build sheets?
I used to own a 68 Firebird and found that build sheet in the springs of the upper rear seat cushion.
Thanks again,
Gregg
