I have a 1953 Special with a straight-8. The engine ID code is on a pad on the right side (leading me to believe it might not be the original) and the number is 69942004. What is this?

Go to Buicks.net. On the left side in the yellow box click on 53 and you will get a lot of information including the starting engine numbers for the year.
