Hey Dave, I just removed the front drums from a '54 Roadmaster and had to remove the castle nut then pull the hub and drum off as one unit.

guys, i am having a really hard time removing the front brake drums. I got the rear off , but the rear had two bolts and the guide pin which were bolted to hold the drum on. the front has a guide pin and well but doesn't have the built in nut on the pin, does the pin hold the drum on? I have been hammering the drum pretty hard and gave up cuz it seems to be something else is missing. I backed off the pads so that is not a problem. I did a search and found a post on a 56 special that you have to take the dust cap off the hub and remove the castle nut. Is this the same for my '53?
Thanks guys. I appreciate your time!
Dave...
