    Protecto-plate

My Lesabre still has the origional protecto-plate along with a ton of other documents. My question is, what exactly is the protecto-plate? I'm assuming it's similar to a RPO code sticker now adays. Can anyone enlighten me? If it is, how do I decode it?

    Protecto plate

I've got mine for my '64 Lesabre. I don't know how to decode it, but I think it contains waranty info for the dealer.

    POP Booklet

The POP plate contains owner info, dealer info, and vehicle info which was used to "write up" all types of repairs on all models in a dealership. This was a combination RO/AFA Form. If warranty repairs were included in the total work performed, the claim (AFA) could be prepared and submitted to the factory without preparing a seperate document.
The Standard RO/AFA Form was a five part form.
(Repair Order / Application For Adjustments)

'65 vehicle POP info appears as follows:

    Engine Production Code No.
    Trans. Production Code No.
Paint Code, Body Trim No., Month Built Code
    Accessory & Option Codes
    Vehicle Identification No.
    Body No.
