Yes, I would appreciate a look at your mods. I wonder if they would be applical to a 263 top end? Thanks, KB. aka Telekenfun.
Duke,
I'd love to see the rockers you modified. Please e-mail a photo. Also, Dale, where did you get your roller rockers?
Doug
Doug........I used http://www.rockerarms.com/
Dale
Dale, could you be more specific? Did they make you a set of roller rockers out of scratch, or did they modify an existing rocker from another make?
Not for sure, but I think they they started from "scratch"
As you can see, all of the rocker are the same with the adjusters and push rod ends offset to make them straight, right or left. They let me chose the ratio (but watch your geomatry). I am pretty sure I delt with a man named Mike but did not write down his last name. They were good people.
If I was to do it over (and I may) I would go with over size rocker shafts. I have broken shaft stands and after using a strobe light found the stock shaft had a whip. I am building stronger stands but if I had check this first I would have used larger shafts also.
Saltracer, how are you getting oil to the pushrod cup/rocker adjuster interface? Did they drill through the rocker body and use an original type adjuster ball? Or are you just letting splash lubrication take care of it?
Dale, what's the ratio?
Is there a bronze bushing or a needle bearing?
I run solid lifters so there is no oil in the pushrods, but the rockers are drilled to deliver the oil flowinf in the rocker shafts.....but I run an oiler bar built into the valve cover that is supplied oil from the oil galley throught tubing. This floods the top of the engine. My goal is the keep the valve springs cool.
They do used the "stock type" adjustor , but not stock
