Rear End Gears

Have a 77 skylark went to replace my gears measured out as a 8.5 10 bolt
running 2.56 gears was trying to update to a 3.73 posi trac but have a 26 spline and can not find this combination anywhere...cannot even find the carrier ...any one else have this problem?

As far as I know all of the '77 Skylarks (last of the big bodies) had the 8.5 10 bolt with 28 spline axles. The '78 cars (first of the smaller bodies) got the 7.5 10 bolt with 26 spline axles. Do you have some parts mixed up?
