how do you remove wiper controles from the dash of a 1955 century

I hope to take mine out pretty soon in my 55 Century. Once I figure it out, I'll try to log back on and help if I can. Are you going to put updated wipers in it? I'm going to upgrade mine, but am too cheap to pay up to $300 for a kit. If you have any input, let me know. Dan

I Have Not Got That Far Yet . My 55century Is Going To The Media Blasting Shop Soon. I Have Sent Off The Carb To Be Rebuilt And The Moter Is In The Shop Now,

Guys,

I'm thinking of tackling that tomorrow - removing the valve from the dash of my 56 Special and seeing what it takes to rebuild it. Right now the wipers work great - they won't stop. I'm guessing the switch is really a valve and I can't find anything about it in the shop manual.

I'm prolly gonna bite that bullet and install a conversion kit in my 54 Special this year. I don't really see any other way to upgrade. Keeps us posted on this. Thanks.
