give me some answers to check on about why the heater is not putting out hot air ,, the thermostat is a 195* one,,,????
I am having trouble with my 1987 Buick century the heater works but the air quality seems to be on the cooler side rather than the hotter side, blower motor works,no leaks, radiator is ok, switches Ok and in right positions,,I am thinking it is some type of sensor,,

Your '87 does not have a water control valve it controls the heater with air temp. door ( cable or vacuum ) .
Most common problem is a stuck open thermostat . You should have the same temp. at both heater hoses if not your heater core is clogged or has air in sys.
Check these things out and post here and I will try to help from there.

I have checked the hoses intake and outta hoses from heater and radiator they seem nice an hot,,I here the door opening when changing to vent level to defrost, the door seems to be working,,but as you say I have not taken out the thermostat an see if its corroded or any rust, but the water is a nice green color from antifreeze,,so I will check thermostat and get back to ya,,
With a stuck thermostat the hoses will be warm at idle but cool off going down the road at speeds. Lets hope it's the thermostat.

This type of heater uses a blend door to control the heat so if that door is not operating properly you will not be able to control the temp. I dont know how it is controlled on such a new car but the older ones use a cable or a vacume control.
