1958 Estate Wagon

How does the spare tire mount in the rear of the wagon? Is it like the cars do? Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like. Someone welded a plate in place of the tire well in mine, so I want to put it back original.

The plate is correct. The tire lays flat in the back cargo area under the cargo lid. Is your car finished? Cheers. Michael.
