I can not figure out how to disconnect the remote mirror from the door trim. Can anyone help me out?

After bold aggression, I found the decorative plate comes off and low there are the screws.
An Aside...
Why couldn't you put one of these on the passenger door?
From what I see of the unit, you would rotate the collar around the mirror 180 deg. and cut a hole in the door and trim to access the cable and mount the adjuster.
