    430 engine swap

    Hi, my name is rob and im new to this site. i just baught a 66 buick skylark special with no engine in it. originaly the car had a a small block in it. i have a 430 i want to use. do i have to change motor mount pocitions on the frame. also is this swap going to have any problems with clearance on the hood.

    Nice swap. You will need engine mounts from a '67, available from www.TAperformance.com

    If you put a th400 trannie in the trannie crossmember will have to move back- just an inch and 1/2 or so.

    Need to shorten the driveshaft then... may as well get a new one, eliminate the rubber isolater bit.

    Then its all plumbing.
