Ticking 300
Hey all,
My 300 runs fine but has a ticking noise under acceleration only. It sounds like an exhaust leak, but I've had the exhaust matched up and the manifolds milled and I tried gaskets on them but the noise stayed largely the same. It almost sounds like it may be coming from the intake manifold area, but it's hard to tell because it's a telegraphing noise. Could the exhaust crossover area be causing this? My heat riser valve has been gutted and the holes welded, but the heat riser area has not been blocked. I'm about out of ideas. It doesn't sound like a motor knock or a lifter, and I've been running it for 15,000 miles like this...I just would like to get rid of the noise! Any ideas?
