    1954 - 1956 Buick Shocks

    Hey Iddie,

    No Problem!

To tell You the Truth, I was quite surprised Whitney had them.

I know they stock a LOT of Ford, Chevy, Jeep and Truck Parts.

I never even thought that they carry any Stock for Our Buicks.

I wonder what other parts they stock for our Buicks???

    Regards,

    Springs

The best place to get springs is Eaton Springs www.eatonsprings.com they have all the original specs and blueprints and are licensed by GM.
It doesn't get much better than that.
Actually you can do alot better. Were talking 50's engineering for rough roads. If your bent on all stock and want a "period" ride go stock. If you want a great ride and drive your car, do your home work. Jamco can make you stock, ORIGINAL per OEM spec springs also, but ask them about ride. Im running 4 of their springs, and the ride is so much better than stock, handles 100% better and corners flat. Ever watched those ORIGINAL car ads corner, can you say body roll? Do you think that you cant do better on even a new car suspension? And we are talking 50 years ago. The original spring height was more than you need now also. I have no bottoming out or clearance issues. You can have my stock ORIGINAL springs. ~T~

    J.C. Whitney

    Hey Guys

    I just did a quick search of J. C. Whitneys On-Line Catalog.

They don't have much for Mid 50's Buicks.

Carpets ( The discription of the Item is not very explainatory or comprehensive) don't know if it covers the rear seating area flooring)

    Rocker Panels

    Shock Absorbers

    Wheel Cylinders (Good Price)
    and...
    Connecting Rod Bears Sets.

Then there is the usual assortment of generic stuff.

Just thought I would Pass this Information Along.

    Regards,

    Tom Gallagher

    Parts

Tom, Never think about JC Whitney. Thanks for the heads up. There was a time prior to The WWW (not wide white walls ) When JCW was one of our very few options. We had FIT whatever we could get. Now thanks to the age of, .com, I bought two of every thing, pretty much all N.O.S. amazing that you can get so much for a 50 year old vehicle. One thats not a Ford or Chevy! Nothing wrong with alot of options, I'll have to get a new JCW catalog. ~T~

Ok..........said the heck with it and ordered the shocks.......if they truly have a 30 day backoreder it will be like Christmas when they show up.......Also checking with the other Gentleman about the sway bar cost and lead time.........have a good day

    Bob

(amazing how well the old girl ran this past weekend for the parade, purrrrrrred like a kitten and even got to zip on past some slow older vehicles )

    Shocks

Got an email from J.C. Whitney saying the shocks have shipped, much less than the 30 day prediction!!

Have not gotten them yet, but there is a light atthe end of the tunnel that is not, I hope, the oncoming train!!!!!!
