    Tape Deck

Does anyone know how to make the tape function on the radio in a 1989 Buick Reatta work with the tape deck removed and a cd player installed using the wires from the tape deck?
I have a cd player to install and want to use the tape function to play it though the stock radio.
    Thanks,

I believe this year still has the crt screen, if so there should be a soft key on the radio screen

The touch screen does have a soft key,but it will not activate with the tape deck unpluged.
I can put the radio in tape mode and then unplug the tape deck then hook up the my cd player and it will play untill you switch back to the radio or turn off the car.

I don't know that you will be able to do what you want, there is a lot of computers involved in that system.
